Cagliari will hold out for €50 million before selling Nicolo Barella to Inter and could send him elsewhere if their asking price isn’t met, according to La Nuova Sardegna.
Rossoblu president Tommaso Giulini wants €35 million in cash for the midfielder plus a permanent deal for Federico Dimarco and loan signings for Alessandro Bastoni and Eder.
Beppe Marotta is expected to meet with Giulini later this week but there is no guarantee the parties will reach an agreement.
“If Inter thought they were going to sign Barella on the cheap, perhaps they’ve realised now that if they play around too much they risk losing the player altogether,” La Nuova Sardegna warned.
“Cagliari’s rigidity is borne out of the fact they have offers from Napoli and Juventus, as well as a couple of clubs abroad.”
Eder has accepted a loan move to Cagliari from current club Jiangsu Suning but his wages are too expensive for the Sardinians, which could present a further stumbling block for Inter.
