Lautaro Martinez is poised to sign a contract extension with Inter that will keep him tied to the Nerazzurri until 2024, according to tuttomercatoweb.

The 21-year-old joined Inter from Racing last summer and scored nine goals in his debut season, including key strikes in victories over Napoli and Milan at San Siro.

Lautaro’s current contract expires in 2023 and will be extended by one season, while his €111 million release clause will remain intact.

Inter have reached an agreement with the striker’s representatives and will make an announcement in due course.

Antonio Conte is likely to count heavily upon Lautaro next season after excluding his compatriot Mauro Icardi from his plans for the 2019-20 campaign.

El Toro will first take part in this summer’s Copa America in Brazil, however, after being named in Lionel Scaloni’s 23-man Argentina squad for the tournament.

Argentina have been drawn into a group alongside Colombia, Paraguay and guest nation Qatar.
