Inter have wrapped up their first signing of the transfer window by signing Cameroon born French midfielder Lucien Agoume from French outfit Souchaux, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

According to the report, Inter have finalized the deal that will see Agoume, dubbed by many as the new Paul Pogba, to leave Sochaux in France and join the Nerazzurri in Italy.

The transfer will, according to the report, cost Inter around €4,5 million including add-ons. Agoume was wanted by many of Europe’s top clubs including Barcelona and Manchester City, but the player decided he wanted to join Inter who have been hot on the player’s trails for quite some time.

Inter now have to decide whether to leave him with the first team or keep him in the Primavera side for the 2019-20 season, although the latter appears more likely at the moment.

Agoume is considered one of the brightest young talents in French football and has made 11 appearances for their under-17 side.

Inter are expected to sell a number of their academy players this month in order to balance their books but this deal confirms their longstanding commitment to invest in their youth sector.
