Inter and Cagliari edge closer to finding an agreement over Italian international midfielder Nicolo Barella, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

According to the report, yesterday there was a meeting between representatives from both clubs where the Nerazzurri presented Cagliari with an offer for the player, which the Rossoblu are yet to accept.

However, the parties are edging closer and closer to finding an agreement and according to the report a deal could be made over the next few days.

The club from the island of Sardinia, had identified Bosnian midfielder Krunic as Barella’s ideal replacement but Empoli have sold the player to AC Milan and so now Cagliari are looking to another Empoli midfielder, namely Traore.

Traore, was destined to go to Fiorentina but the deal fell through after the Viola changed owners and now instead Juventus have all but signed the player.

Cagliari are looking to find an agreement with Juventus where they would be allowed to bring Traore to Sardinia.
