Inter have made an approach with Bayern Munich for the club’s outgoing defender Jerome Boateng, according to German newspaper Bild.

Boateng turns 31 in September and has been placed on the market by the Bundesliga champions, who are thought to want €15 million for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner.

The defender has made 286 appearances for Bayern since joining from Manchester City in 2011, winning seven Bundesliga titles along with the UEFA Champions League in 2013.

Juventus are also said to be interested in the player, with neither club having taken their approach further at this stage.

Boateng made 20 league appearances for Bayern during the 2018-19 season as Niko Kovac’s side secured yet another title at the expense of Borussia Dortmund.

He also boasts 76 caps for the German national team, making his debut back in October 2009 and scoring once in a 3-2 win over Uruguay during the third-place play-off at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
