Inter are pushing to secure a buy-back option for Zinho Vanheusden in the deal taking the defender to Standard Liege, according to reports in Belgium.

Vanheusden and fellow youth academy graduate Xian Emmers will sign for the Belgian giants for a combined fee of €18-20 million, helping Inter raise funds to comply with Financial Fair Play.

Bruno Venanzi and Alexandre Grosjean flew to Milan last month to negotiate another loan for Vanheusden, who has been playing for Standard since January 2018.

The sales of Razvan Marin to Ajax and Moussa Djenepo to Southampton, however, have freed up money for the club to sign him permanently.

Vanheusden faces another four months on the sidelines as he recovers from another serious injury, but had nonetheless attracted interest from clubs in Germany and England.

The 19-year-old wants to stay at his boyhood club, though, where he will be joined by Emmers, who spent last season playing on loan for Cremonese in Serie B.
