Inter have agreed personal terms with Hertha Berlin midfielder Valentino Lazaro and hope to complete a deal for the 23-year-old early next week, according to Calciomercato.com.

Lazaro is valued at €25 million but Inter want to reach an agreement for slightly less, having offered the Bundesliga club €17 million plus add-ons.

The Nerazzurri feel comfortably in front of Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Austrian international and want to meet Hertha to finalise everything next week.

Antonio Conte is looking for a player to fill the right wing-back position in his 3-5-2 system and believes Lazaro would fit the bill with his stamina and pace.

Inter are hoping they can close a deal for a fee in the region of €20 million before moving onto other transfer targets.

Nicolo Barella and Edin Dzeko are both expected to join Lazaro at San Siro but neither Cagliari nor Roma have accepted the club’s offers yet.
