Inter could bring midfielder Mateo Kovacic back to the club without sacrificing their pursuit for Nicolo Barella if Radja Nainggolan is sold, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri held ‘exploratory talks’ with Real Madrid when Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio visited the Spanish capital last week.

Nainggolan will need to leave the club in order to make room for the Croatian, however, and at the moment the Belgian’s departure appears unlikely.

Inter would only consider offers above €30 million for the 31-year-old and need Nainggolan to accept any destination he is proposed.

“It’s not going to be easy to get Nainggolan to approve a move elsewhere, but it won’t be easy to get him to accept Antonio Conte’s strict training rules either,” the Rome-based paper suggested today.

Nainggolan’s agent Alessandro Beltrami met Ausilio yesterday to discuss his client’s future, although neither party is in a hurry to arrange a sale.
