Inter have ended their interest in Manchester City full-back Danilo because Antonio Conte wants to sign a more attacking player, according to Sky Sport.

Danilo was subject to a €15 million offer in April but the bid was rejected because City deemed it too low.

The Nerazzurri are no longer following the player because Conte believes Danilo is ‘too much of a full-back’ to play at wing-back in his 3-5-2 system.

Conte wants a midfielder to play there and thus prefers players such as Antonio Candreva, Valentino Lazaro and Federico Chiesa for that position.

Danilo made just 11 league appearances for City last season as Pep Guardiola’s side secured a second consecutive Premier League title.

Inter’s decision to abandon the Brazilian could have the knock-on effect of scuppering City’s interest for Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo.

City needed to sell Danilo to create space for the Portuguese international in their squad, but now they have one buyer less.
