Inter are in advanced talks to sign striker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United, according to one high-profile Italian journalist.

Stefano Agresti today appeared as a guest on Radio Sportiva and claimed the Belgian has already given his word to the Nerazzurri, who will also sign Edin Dzeko from Roma.

Mauro Icardi has no future at the club and will be sold after new head coach Antonio Conte ruled him out of his plans for next season.

“Inter will be taking a big risk by selling Icardi but the damage has been done and it would be impossible for the parties to rebuild their bridges,” Agresti said this morning.

“Conte and Beppe Marotta are two exceptional professionals and will keep Inter’s notoriously crazy DNA under control.

“The pair will provide Inter with the rigidity you need in order to reach the top.”

Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara wants to stay in Milan but she will not receive any sympathy from the club, who are already looking to life beyond their former captain.
