Inter’s pre-season friendly against Lugano on 14 July will see the Swiss club trial VAR for the first time, according to Tuttosport.

The Swiss Super League will introduce the video assistant referee system for the 2019-20 season and all clubs are required to test it in their stadiums beforehand.

Lugano’s Stadio Cornaredo will get its first taste of VAR when the Nerazzurri arrive next month, when Antonio Conte’s side arrive there to conclude their preseason training camp.

Inter will then jet out to Asia for fixtures against Manchester United and Juventus in the International Champions Cup, before meeting Paris Saint-Germain in the International Super Cup and Tottenham in the ICC again.

The start of the new Serie A season is scheduled for the weekend of 24-25 August, with the Turin-based paper today revealing Inter will also face Valencia on 10-11 August.

Conte hopes to have as many summer signings as possible in place before preseason training begins on 8 July.
