Former Inter coach Andrea Starmaccioni believes that Antonio Conte and Maurizo Sarri’s return to Italian football is a great thing and that Inter linked striker Romelu Lukaku reminds him of Christian Vieri, when speaking with Radio Sportiva.

The former Udinese and Inter coach, recently signed with Iranian side Esteghlal from Tehran, but he still remembers his time with the Nerazzurri fondly.

“I will always carry Inter in my heart, it is a club that I always want the best for. Lukaku will be great, he reminds me of Christian Vieri. It is not easy to find a physically strong and technically strong attacker in the Serie A.”

“I also think that Diego Godin is a great signing. Conte and Sarri are among the best coaches in the world, their return will only be good for Italian football.”

“When Esteghlal first contacted me, I did not know much about them and I didn’t give their offer much attention. Instead, when I looked deeper into it I discovered a completely different reality from the one I first imagined. They really wanted me.”
