Whilst seeming somewhat inevitable, Inter and Mauro Icardi’s separation is still some way away from actually happening according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter are understood to no longer deem the Argentine as part of their plans but have had trouble in offloading the 26-year-old striker.

Some reports have suggested that Inter could exclude Icardi from pre-season but the Milan based newspaper instead detail that Inter will not do this to avoid the risk of being subjected to legal action. The club are also aware that excluding him would more than likely result in his value dropping further.

Inter want €70 million to part ways with him but could be open to swapping him directly for Juventus star and fellow Argentine Paulo Dybala if they cannot find someone willing to pay cash for him.

Inter have very little interest at all in swapping any other Juventus players for Icardi but newly appointed manager Antonio Conte might ask for Juan Cuadrado.

If this turns out to be the case, Inter would expect a cash sum on top of the Colombian in order to deal away former Sampdoria striker Icardi.
