Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has explained the reasoning behind Inter selecting the Swiss region of Lugano to begin their preparations ahead of the coming season.

“We chose Lugano because it represents excellence not only as a city but with its sports facilities. Lugano is an oasis of peace and the ideal place for a retreat. I would say it is definitely a place that represents sporting and commercial excellence. Lugano is known throughout the world for what it represents in commercial and financial terms,” Marotta told RSI Rete Uno.

Marotta then spoke on a possible partnership between the two clubs.

“There will be above all be a synergy at the level of know-how that both companies represent. Lugano is positioning itself as a European team as evidenced by their appearances in the Europa League. So it means that they are growing and we are happy to be by their side and vice versa, we will try to seize the possibilities of collaboration.”
