Many have tried to compare the legal threats made by Mauro Icardi to the legal case of Goran Pandev back in 2010 but Il Giorno insist that there is no common denominator between the two cases.

Unlike Pandev, who was excluded from training by Lazio over a contract dispute which was in contrast to article 7 of the collective agreement between the AIC and FIGC, Icardi opted to sit out for the best part of two months having been stripped of the captain’s armband.

The Argentine striker cited injury for sitting out but medical tests proved that there was no problem but despite this Icardi continued to sit out.

Il Giorno believe that the only solution to the whole Icardi saga at Inter is for the 26-year-old to be sold on during the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Inter will take €70 million for the former Sampdoria player but there are no offers on the table, particularly from abroad. Juventus have shown a keen interest in signing him and a swap deal that would see Paulo Dybala head in the other direction can’t be ruled out.
