Zinho Vanheusden still dreams of playing for Inter one day despite being close to joining Standard Liege on a permanent deal, according to FcInterNews.it.

Vanheusden and fellow Belgian Xian Emmers (on loan) are about to complete a double transfer to the Jupiler League club as Inter seek capital gains to comply with Financial Fair Play.

However, the defender has expressed his desire to return to the Nerazzurri during negotiations and wants Inter to have a buy-back option included in the deal.

Inter do not want to lose control of a player they believe has a bright future, but both parties accept a move to Standard will help Vanheusden develop further.

Vanheusden made 21 regular season appearances last year before a serious knee injury curtailed his participation in the end-of-season playoffs.

The 19-year-old has interest from clubs in Italy, England, Germany, Holland and elsewhere, but will join Standard in the next couple of weeks.

It is unlikely the deal for Vanheusden and Emmers will be finalised before the weekend, despite the latter’s agent’s plans to fly into Italy this week to follow the UEFA European Under-21 Championships.

There seems no doubt Inter will get the move completed, though.
