Fiorentina’s new owner Rocco Commisso has reiterated his desire to keep hold of Federico Chiesa this summer, telling reporters not even €100 million would be enough.

Chiesa starred in Italy’s 3-1 win over Spain at the UEFA European Under-21 Championships on Sunday, scoring twice as the Azzurrini came from behind.

Juventus and Inter are heavily linked with the 21-year-old but Commisso told Corriere dello Sport the forward was not going anywhere.

“I said on the day I was introduced to the media that Chiesa represents Fiorentina,” Commisso said.

“For me he’s the top and I won’t sell him. He’s the pride of Florence and we don’t need the money.

“I’d like to keep Chiesa for at least another year and when I say ‘at least’ I mean I’d like to keep him for longer. We’ll see…”

Commisso admitted he had not spoken to the player yet but was adamant nothing Chiesa said would change his mind.

“We need to leave him to focus on the Euros for now but I’ll speak to him soon, I’m looking forward to meeting him,” he added.

“When I make promises I keep them. How could I begin my tenure in Florence by selling the player who represents us in the Italian national team?”
