Inter’s goalkeeper Ionut Radu today told Gazzetta dello Sport he would like to spend another season on loan at Genoa.

Radu made 33 appearances for the Rossoblu during the 2018-19 campaign as they avoided relegation to Serie B on the final day.

The 22-year-old is currently preparing to represent Romania in the UEFA European Under-21 Championships and believes his future would be best served staying with the Grifone.

“I’m very happy at Genoa,” Radu said.

“I think another year there would do me good because I’d have the chance to work with Alessio Scarpi, a coach who’s helped me develop every aspect of my game.

“I would never have imagined to come into Genoa and play 33 games, but they gave me this opportunity. I’ve always dreamed of playing in Serie A.”

Romania face a tough challenge at the Euros after being drawn into a group alongside France, England and Croatia.

“We’ve ended up in the worst group possible,” Radu admitted.

“I think France and England are the two strongest teams at this tournament, but we’ll try and get through to the quarter-finals.”
