Inter are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Valentino Lazaro, according to Sky Deutschland.

The Nerazzurri have agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old and are now in advanced talks with the Bundesliga club.

Hertha want a fee in the region of €25 million to sell Lazaro, contrary to recent reports in Italy suggesting they would only ask for €20 million.

The Austrian international would become Inter’s first official signing of the summer, with Atletico Madrid centre-back Diego Godin expected to arrive in July.

Lazaro made 31 appearances for Hertha last season as they secured an 11th-place finish in Germany’s top flight, scoring three goals and contributing seven assists.

He has also played 23 matches for Austria, scoring in a 2-1 win against Northern Ireland in November and during a 4-1 victory over North Macedonia last week.

Antonio Conte believes Lazaro is an ideal fit for his 3-5-2 system at wing-back, covering the entire right-hand side of the pitch with his stamina and pace.
