Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Pinamonti starred for Italy as they reached the semi-finals of this summer’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Poland, where the Azzurrini were knocked out by Ukraine.

Benfica, Porto and Eintracht Frankfurt have all made approaches but Dortmund are the latest and most prestigious club to come forward.

Inter will not sell Pinamonti before Antonio Conte has had the opportunity to study the forward during preseason training, and in any case they would want more than €20 million.

Pinamonti was due to take part in the UEFA European Under-21 Championships being held in Italy, but a knee injury ruled him out of the tournament.

The 20-year-old scored five goals in 27 appearances for Frosinone last season, but they were not enough to help the Ciociari avoid relegation to Serie B.

Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga last season after remaining ahead of eventual champions Bayern Munich for long periods.
