Inter still have work to do in their pursuit of Valentino Lazaro after Hertha Berlin raised their asking price to €25 million, according to Tuttosport.

Reports in Germany yesterday suggested the deal was all but done yet there is still a considerable distance between the clubs’ valuations.

Inter have offered €17 million plus €2 million in add-ons and consider €25 million too much for the Austrian international.

The parties will make contact again today in the hope some more diplomacy can lead to an agreement.

Lazaro appeared to tease Inter supporters on Instagram yesterday by posting a picture of himself in Miami, where he is on holiday, sitting on a suitcase and asking: “What’s next?”

It remains unlikely the 23-year-old will be anywhere other than Milan next season but he will need to stay patient for the moment.

Elsewhere, Inter are still optimistic about signing Edin Dzeko from Roma despite talks with the Giallorossi having stalled.

Both clubs need to sell players to record capital gains before 30 June and the Turin-based paper does not believe the Bosnian risks missing out on a move to the Nerazzurri.
