Inter are destined to complete the signing of Valentino Lazaro from Hertha Berlin in the coming days, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri remain €5 million short of the Bundesliga club’s asking price, which appears to have risen suddenly to €25 million since the weekend.

Lazaro has already agreed personal terms, however, and will soon be granted his wish of a move to Serie A.

“The distance between the clubs is not too big and talks are set to end happily,” Gazzetta assured this morning.

“Lazaro won’t fly into Milan directly from Miami, where he is on holiday at the moment, but sooner or later that will be his final destination.”

The Austrian international made 31 appearances for Hertha last season as they secured an 11th-place finish in Germany’s top flight, scoring three goals and contributing seven assists.

Antonio Conte views him as the ideal player to slot in at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system, capable of covering the entire right-hand side of the pitch with stamina and pace.
