Romelu Lukaku has his heart set on joining Inter this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lukaku told reporters last week he had made a decision about his future at Manchester United, but added he could not announce it yet out of respect for the club.

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez has since all but confirmed the forward’s decision to leave the Premier League, though, saying Lukaku was ‘ready for something new’.

“When Lukaku gets an idea in his head he normally makes sure he gets his wish,” Gazzetta said.

“Now it’s Inter on his mind. He was fairly clear in his recent comments and his national team coach has confirmed them.”

Lukaku has a close relationship with Martinez, having scored 25 goals in his last 22 games for Belgium and spent two years with him at Everton.

Inter have clearly received the green light from the player but must now reach an agreement with United, which could prove easier said than done.
