Inter do not intend to meet Roma’s €20 million asking price for Edin Dzeko, according to Il Messaggero.

Roma know Dzeko has already given his word to Inter after the Bosnian agreed personal terms last month, but the clubs have yet to reach an agreement.

The Giallorossi have dropped their original asking price from €25 million but Inter do not want to spend more than €12 million in cash for the 33-year-old.

Davide Merola could be included in the deal to move the Nerazzurri closer to €20 million, but it remains unclear whether Roma would accept this.

Antonio Conte already tried to sign Dzeko while he was Chelsea manager in January 2018 but the player’s wage demands put the Premier League club off.

Dzeko joined Roma from Manchester City in 2015 and has since made 179 appearances in all competitions, scoring 87 goals.

Conte would like to partner the striker with Romelu Lukaku in his 3-5-2 system next season.
