Milan’s new boss Marco Giampaolo has appointed one of the fitness coaches that helped Inter win the treble to his backroom staff, according to Corriere della Sera.
Stefano Rapetti worked under Jose Mourinho for the Nerazzurri during the 2009-10 season, when Inter rewrote history and won the Champions League in Madrid.
Rapetti went on to assist Giampaolo during his time at Sampdoria, though, spending two years in Liguria before leaving in May 2018.
Mourinho wanted the 42-year-old to rejoin him at Manchester United and brought him to England for last season.
Milan confirmed Giampaolo had been appointed their new head coach yesterday after weeks of speculation.
Giamapolo is a die-hard Inter supporter and represents the latest in a long line of Interisti who have joined the Rossoneri in recent years.
Rapetti will hope his fitness programs can help Milan return to the Champions League after they missed out on the final day of last season.
