Paris Saint-Germain Could Beat Inter To Barella If Talks Don’t Progress
Inter risk losing Nicolo Barella to Paris Saint-Germain after the Nerazzurri called off a meeting with Cagliari due for today, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Beppe Marotta had planned to meet the Rossoblu’s owner Tommaso Giulini in an attempt to revive the clubs’ talks, which have stalled in the last few days.
Cagliari remain adamant they want €50 million to sell Barella, though, which Inter do not intend to pay for the midfielder.
“It would have been pointless meeting today to have the same discussion again,” Gazzetta explained.
“If PSG really were to make an offer close to the €50 million mark then Barella could end up going there instead.”
Inter have begun weighing up alternatives to Barella with no sign of negotiations progressing at present.
Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi has become a target this week but the club are also studying Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri, who has interest from Napoli.
Seri turns 28 in July and made 32 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers last season, as they were relegated back to the Championship.
