Inter’s reported interest for Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi is not as genuine as many have suggested, according to Corriere della Sera.

Various sources this week have claimed the Nerazzurri want to challenge local rivals Milan in the race to sign the talented 23-year-old.

However, the paper is convinced Inter do not intend to step up their pursuit and will not take part in any bidding wars.

Sassuolo have told the player’s agent Giuseppe Riso they want €35 million to sell Sensi, who appears to want a move to Milan.

Inter’s main target in midfield remains Nicolo Barella but the club will have to increase their offer to agree a deal with Cagliari.

Barella only wants to join the Nerazzurri but Paris Saint-Germain and Roma are also sniffing around, with the Giallorossi offering a part-exchange deal including Luca Pellegrini and Gregoire Defrel.

Inter are said to be ‘agitated’ by the developments and need to offer more money to win over Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini.

The club’s supporters remain as enthusiastic as ever, though, having almost snapped up all of Inter’s available season tickets for the 2019-20 season.
