Pirelli chief executive and Inter supporter Marco Tronchetti Provera has ensured supporters Antonio Conte is the right man to restore the Nerazzurri’s glory days.
Conte will begin preparing for the new campaign on 7 July when preseason training begins at Appiano Gentile.
The former Juventus and Chelsea boss has signed a three-year deal and made no bones about his desire to win trophies when Inter presented him.
“Conte is an extremely impressive professional,” Tronchetti Provera told reporters at an event today.
“He’s had important experiences and successes with Juventus, Italy and Chelsea. He’s a leader and that’s what Inter needed.
“I think Conte knows what Inter are missing in order to compete with Juve and Napoli and he’ll make sure he gets it.”
Inter finished 21 points behind the Old Lady in Serie A last season but Conte suggested he would aim for the Scudetto next year.
The Nerazzurri could announce Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi as their first signing of the summer in the coming days.
