Mateo Kovacic is refusing to lose hope about a possible return to Inter this Summer according to a report from Tuttosport.

Inter have probed the ground with Real Madrid over the Croatian, who spent a few years on the Nerazzurri’s books having joined from Dinamo Zagreb.

Kovacic spent the past season out on loan at Premier League side Chelsea and is understood to not be in the plans of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The report from the Turin based newspaper however goes on to report that for Kovacic to return to San Siro, it is almost compulsory that Radja Nainggolan has to leave.

The midfielder only joined Inter last Summer but ultimately failed to deliver as expected despite showing some glimpses.

Previously deemed untouchable by club management, that is no longer the case for the Belgian, whose debut campaign in the Nerazzurri shirt was derailed by several injury problems.
