Roma remain very much interested in signing Cagliari starlet Nicolo Barella but their interest will ultimately come to nothing due to the fact the player only wants to join Inter according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have spoken to the player’s agent but it was made clear to them that the 22-year-old has already made his mind up.
Inter and Cagliari remain locked in talks for the midfielder with the Sardinian club standing firm with their €50 million demands.
Inter are understood to have offer a sum of €40 million up front and the total cost of the deal could rise as high as €50 million depending on bonuses that have been inserted in their offer being met.
The Rome based newspaper detail that the deal will not consist of any counterparts despite the fact many other sources are claiming Inter are looking to bring the cost down by inserting a player or two into the mix.
