Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport are completely convinced that Inter transfer target Nicolo Barella will become a top player in the years to come.

The Nerazzurri are continuing to negotiate with Cagliari over the 22-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the top Italian prospects.

“Nicolo Barella is not yet a top player but the road to becoming one looks like a straight road for him with zero obstacles and the possibility of travelling on autopilot without any worry,” the report begins.

Barella is a battler, even in training. He is a player who gives his all until the final whistle and has now learned how to be more decisive in front of goal. Goal scoring was missing from his repertoire for him to make the next leap in his development and while representing Italy it seems to almost come naturally to him.”

The report concludes: “Inter is waiting to sign him and for sure the boy deserves to play in the Champions League,”
