Inter were surprisingly linked with a move for former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus full-back Dani Alves today.

Alves has left the French champions after two seasons and is looking for a new destination as a free agent.

France Football suggested Inter were one of the clubs interested, having identified him as suitable for Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

Should the Nerazzurri step up their interest in the 36-year-old they would face competition from Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and an unnamed Chinese Super League.

Dani Alves has made 112 appearances for the Brazilian national team since making his senior debut in 2006, scoring eight goals.

Inter will once again play in the Champions League next season and the club are looking for experienced players who can provide charisma and leadership.

Alves helped Juventus reach the final two years ago before leaving for France, suggesting he had not enjoyed the pressure and tension which surrounded Italian football.
