Inter are finally closing in on a deal to sign Sochaux midfielder Lucien Agoume after increasing their offer to €7 million, according to FcInterNews.it.

The Nerazzurri expected to sign the 17-year-old last week but a last-minute €6 million offer from Manchester City caused talks to slow at the decisive moment.

However, Agoume will nonetheless move to Italy after Inter surpassed City’s proposal by adding some easily obtainable add-ons.

The player’s agent Oscar Damiani visited Inter’s new offices in Milan today to work on the final details, providing further proof a deal is very close.

Agoume has made 11 appearances for France’s under-17 side and helped Sochaux to a 16th-place finish in Ligue 2 last season.

The French club are in difficult financial straits and will need to complete a deal soon as they need the money to avoid dire consequences.

Both parties are said to be optimistic of a deal being completed in the coming days.
