Inter are preparing to submit an increased offer for Hertha Berlin midfielder Valentino Lazaro, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Talks are progressing slowly with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio confident the player’s decision to join the Nerazzurri will ensure their strategy prevails.

Inter have yet to break through the €20 million barrier but are planning an improved offer with the help of an agent from FIFA, who is mediating between the clubs.

Hertha want €25 million for Lazaro and have leaked interest from Paris Saint-Germain and a couple of Premier League clubs to pressurise the Nerazzurri.

Antonio Conte is looking for a player to fill in at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system and would approve of Lazaro’s stamina on the right-hand side of the pitch.

It is thought an offer of €20 million upfront plus €5 million in add-ons could get the job done for Inter.

Lazaro scored three goals and created seven assists last season as Hertha secured an 11th-place finish in the Bundesliga.
