Inter Will Begin Lukaku Talks With Manchester United Next Week

Inter will make contact with Manchester United next week to begin talks for Romelu Lukaku, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Antonio Conte has put the striker at the centre of his plans for next season and the Nerazzurri will try and sign him before preseason training begins on 7 July.

Lukaku has agreed a deal worth €6.5 million per season and could be prepared to shun the diplomacy he has used thus far in order to force through a move.

United initially wanted €85 million to sell Lukaku but the player’s desire to join Inter and the lack of other offers means Inter hope to pay less.

The Premier League side cannot agree a deal for a fee lower than €60 million if they wish to avoid making a net loss on the 26-year-old.

Inter wanted to explore the possibility of a part-exchange deal involving either Ivan Perisic or Mauro Icardi, but United seem uninterested.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are studying a way to make the Red Devils an offer without jeopardising the rest of their transfer dealings.

Talks for Valentino Lazaro and Edin Dzeko have been placed on the back burner as they chase one of Conte’s primary targets in this summer’s market.

Inter will meet Sassuolo tomorrow, however, in an attempt to finalise a deal for midfielder Stefano Sensi.
