Gabriele Oriali will officially rejoin Inter as team manager this week on a three-year deal, according to Tuttosport.

The former World Cup winner has already been working for the Nerazzurri behind the scenes, having left his job with the Italian national team after their match against Bosnia on 11 June.

Oriali met with Antonio Conte and his backroom staff last week to plan preseason and attended the inauguration of Inter’s new offices in Milan, when club president Steven Zhang was present.

Tuttosport today said: “Inter will give Oriali the same mission they have given to Conte and Beppe Marotta: dethrone Juventus and deliver Inter the league title they last won in 2010.”

Oriali was involved in the Nerazzurri’s treble-winning season during his last spell at the club, working alongside Jose Mourinho before joining Italy.

The ex-midfielder made almost 400 appearances for Inter in all competitions, winning the Scudetto under Eugenio Bersellini in the 1979-80 campaign.
