Sampdoria are intensifying their pursuit of Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni in the hope of a loan signing this summer, according to FcInterNews.it.

Bastoni spent last season on loan at Parma and made 24 appearances for the Ducali as they preserved their Serie A status on the penultimate weekend.

Samp are likely to sell centre-back Joachim Andersen before the new season begins and have identified the 20-year-old as an ideal, albeit temporary replacement.

Sporting director Carlo Osti is in constant contact with Bastoni’s agent Tulio Tinti and has stepped up his charm offensive in the last few days.

Bastoni also has interest from Cagliari, who would be keen to sign him as part of a deal taking Nicolo Barella to Inter.

The defender appears to prefer a move to Genova, however, where he would be guaranteed a place in the starting XI and the opportunity to fight for Europe.

Inter will await a decision from the youngster as he plans his immediate future.
