Inter’s academy forward Davide Merola is on the verge of completing a move to Bologna, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Bologna will only pay Inter €500,000 as Merola has one year left on his contract, but the Nerazzurri will be due 30% of any future fee they get for him.

Merola’s sale will help the club inch closer to their target of raising €40 million in capital gains, as they aim to satisfy Financial Fair Play requirements.

Elsewhere, Zinho Vanheusden will soon move to Standard Liege for €20 million, Nicholas Rizzo and Lorenzo Gavioli will join Genoa for €9.5 million and Edoardo Vergani will sign for Sassuolo for €5 million.

Merola made 32 appearances in all competitions for Inter’s Primavera side last season, scoring 12 goals and creating three assists.

His most eye-catching goal of the campaign came during a 4-2 win against Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League, but Armando Madonna’s side were eliminated at the group stage.

Inter lost out to Atalanta in the Campionato Primavera final after finishing second to the Bergamaschi during the regular season.
