Inter remain optimistic of signing Nicolo Barella from Cagliari, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri have long since agreed personal terms with the player and held talks with his agent Alessandro Beltrami in the club’s new offices yesterday.

Beltrami confirmed Barella is still intent on joining Inter, reinforcing the club’s position as they wait for a breakthrough in talks with Cagliari.

“It’s going to take some time still but Barella’s commitment to Inter makes them confident they will eventually get it done,” the paper reported today.

Stefano Sensi will arrive at Inter in far shorter order after Sassuolo agreed to sell the midfielder on loan with an option to buy on Friday.

The 23-year-old will sign a five-year deal worth €2 million per season in wages and the deal between the clubs should be finalised in a meeting today.

Sensi’s loan will cost €5 million and the option to buy will be fixed at €20 million.
