Roberto Gagliardini is not for sale at Inter this summer after Antonio Conte took the midfielder off the market, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The former Atalanta man scored five goals in 19 league appearances under Luciano Spalletti last season, often playing second fiddle to Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino.
Conte is counting upon Gagliardini for the upcoming campaign, however, as he redesigns the Nerazzurri’s midfield amid arrivals and departures.
“The ex-Italy boss thinks he has a unique set of skills within Inter’s squad and is confident he can become an important player for him,” Gazzetta said.
Gagliardini joined Inter in a deal worth around €22 million in 2017 and has played 72 games in all competitions since, finding the net on seven occasions.
The 25-year-old has six caps for the Italian national team after making his senior debut in March 2017, playing 53 minutes of the Azzurri’s 2-1 win over the Netherlands in a friendly fixture.
