Inter’s future signing Valentino Lazaro is considered second only to David Alaba in his native Austria, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Antonio Conte believes the 23-year-old is perfect to play at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system, impressing for stamina and physical strength while at Hertha Berlin.

Lazaro played the full 90 minutes on 29 occasions for Hertha last season, scoring three goals and creating seven assists as they finished 11th in the Bundesliga.

He was already close to arriving in 2012 (aged 16) before a last-minute change of heart from his mother saw the deal fall through.

Lazaro began his career as an attacking midfielder after honing his skills on the streets of Austria, where he also enjoyed recording freestyle videos to post on YouTube.

His ability on the ball has remained intact but the midfielder has since become a complete player, transitioning from life as a winger to being a wing-back at Hertha.

Lazaro spent five years playing for Red Bull Salzburg’s first team before going to Hertha, who beat off competition from RB Leipzig to sign him.
