Inter goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio is close to joining newly-promoted Serie B club Pordenone on loan for next season, according to Il Gazzettino.

Attilio Tesser’s side surprised everyone last year by finishing top of their regional group in the third tier, but now they must reinforce their squad to fight for survival.

The Ramarri have agreed a deal to extend the contract of their current keeper Giacomo Bindi but they want Di Gregorio as well, who would presumably be first-choice.

The 21-year-old played on loan at Novara during the 2018-19 season, keeping 12 clean sheets in 32 appearances.

Di Gregorio was poised to get his chance to move up to Serie B twelve months ago when Avellino agreed to sign the youngster on loan.

However, the Irpini subsequently went bust and forced the player’s entourage to look elsewhere, eventually settling for another campaign in Serie C.

Di Gregorio helped Inter win the Campionato Primavera title under Stefano Vecchi in 2017, beating Fiorentina in the final.
