Borja Valero will not rejoin Fiorentina this summer after leaving the club to sign for Inter in 2017, according to Tuttosport.

The midfielder’s agent Alejandro Camano met Inter for talks yesterday alongside an intermediary in Davide Lippi, but the conditions for a transfer do not exist.

Vincenzo Montella was reportedly interested in bringing the 34-year-old back to Florence but the Viola are not a plausible destination for now.

“Borja will begin preseason training with Inter and then we’ll find out whether Conte needs his experience or wants him to find another club,” the paper reported this morning.

“At that point there might be a few Spanish clubs who revive their interest, because that’s where the player could finish his career.”

Valero spent five seasons with Fiorentina before signing for Inter on an express request from Luciano Spalletti.

The Spaniard made 27 appearances in Serie A last year as the Nerazzurri scraped a fourth-place finish on the final day.
