Inter could be set for a bidding war over their full-back Dalbert after Monaco joined Lyon in the race for the Brazilian, according to FcInterNews.it.
Leonardo Jardim’s side were interested in signing the 25-year-old last summer but were unable to make Inter an offer they deemed satisfactory.
Inter must give Dalbert’s former club Nice a 20% cut of any transfer fee and therefore want €20 million to part company with him.
Neither Lyon or Monaco are willing to offer more than €15 million but the Nerazzurri are nonetheless ‘optimistic’ they can agree a deal.
Monaco know they will need to propose a permanent deal for Dalbert if they are to beat Lyon, who only want him on loan with an option or obligation to buy.
Their problem is more likely to be the fee, with €20 million currently thought to be too much.
Dalbert made just 11 appearances for Inter last season as Luciano Spalletti consistently preferred Kwadwo Asamoah and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
