Valentino Lazaro will undergo a medical with Inter next week after the Nerazzurri agreed a €22 million deal for the midfielder, according to Tuttosport.

Lazaro made 31 appearances for Hertha Berlin last season as they secured an 11th-place finish in Bundesliga, scoring three goals and contributing seven assists.

The clubs are negotiating the final details of their agreement after Hertha accepted Inter’s latest offer of €22 million plus bonuses.

The 23-year-old will arrive in Italy in the next few days before putting pen to paper on his new deal.

Lazaro has played 23 matches for the Austrian national team, scoring in a 2-1 win against Northern Ireland in November and during a 4-1 victory over North Macedonia earlier this month.

Antonio Conte believes Lazaro is an ideal fit for his 3-5-2 system at right wing-back, given he has the stamina to cover the entire right-hand side of the pitch.

Inter nearly signed the player in 2012 as a 16-year-old but talks fell through after Lazaro’s mother changed her mind at the last minute.
