Antonio Conte is hopeful that he will be able to utilise both Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku from the start of pre-season according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
Inter have been in contact with Roma and Manchester United over the duo for some time now and Conte is understood to have a strong desire to have the pair of them available as soon as possible.
If both are not available for the pre-season tour in Lugano, Switzerland, he is hopeful that the pair will both be available for the tour in China.
The road to Dzeko certainly appears far easier than the road to Lukaku. Inter president Steven Zhang is convinced that Lukaku can become an icon at Inter but first they need to strike a deal with United.
Inter made an offer consisting of a €10 million loan fee for two seasons with an obligation to buy for €60 million. The Premier League club did however not warm to the offer meaning Inter will need to go back to the drawing board.
The report from the Rome based newspaper also takes a look at Mauro Icardi’s current situation at the club.
The striker is currently on holiday in Polynesia with his wife/agent Wanda and will be back in Italy shortly. He will spend a few days with his family in Milan before the pre-season retreat to Lugano which will be his first opportunity to meet with Conte.
Conte has already explained to Wanda over the phone that he does not view Icardi as part of his plans and will tell the Argentine the same when they meet.
