Inter remain calm despite reports suggesting Roma are trying to sign Nicolo Barella from right under their nose according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Roma are understood to have had a €35 million plus Gregoire Defrel offer accepted for the Italian international but Inter’s leadership are calm due to their recent meeting with the players agent Alessandro Beltrami.

Beltrami met with Inter’s leadership on Tuesday and reiterated his client’s desire to join the Nerazzurri.

Inter have already got an agreement in principle with the 22-year-old over personal terms. If Inter can strike a deal with Cagliari, Barella will sign a five-year contract worth €2.5 million a year to him.

This past season Barella, who is widely regarded as one of the top Italian prospects at the moment, made 38 appearances across all competitions.

In just shy of 3400 minutes in total on the field, the former Como loanee scored one goal and provided four assists for his teammates.
