Corriere dello Sport believe that with Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin and Milan Skriniar,  Inter have the strongest defence ahead of the 2019/20 Serie A campaign.

Godin is set to arrive on a free transfer once his contract with Atletico Madrid expires at the end of this month and will further strengthen what is already a rock-solid defence.

For Inter manager Antonio Conte, it will be like going back to his days in charge of Juventus where he had the back three of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

Whilst Inter do not have a player who can build play up like Bonucci can, in terms of physicality, temperament and overall quality, Inter’s defence is at an extraordinary level.

Godin’s arrival will also perhaps allow Conte to advance Skriniar up the park. The 23-year-old often plays as a defensive midfielder when representing his native Slovakia and could soon do the same for Inter.
