Cagliari’s young Italian international midfielder Nicolo Barella has told his club that he is not interested in joining Roma but instead only wants a transfer to Inter to work with Antonio Conte.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio who reports that Barella has not had a change of heart regarding his decision to join the Nerazzurri, a decision he has made for weeks.

Barella has instead reiterated his decision that if he leaves Cagliari his first choice is the first club that contacted him, Inter, and the first coach that has contacted him, Antonio Conte.

Furthermore, Di Marzio reports that Roma have been made aware of Barella’s decision and therefore they are looking at other targets, such as Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout.

Earlier today, Cagliari President Giulini revealed that he had agreed terms with Roma but that Barella will take 2 days to reflect and make a decision. It seems that decision has been made in far less time than that, as Barella will only accept a move to Inter.
