Inter’s bid to sign Romelu Lukaku remains an uphill battle as Manchester United are not interested in selling the forward on loan, according to Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri offered a two-year loan with an obligation to buy, having failed to free up funds immediately through selling Mauro Icardi.
United are not keen on the formula, though, as they chase a deal for Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“Inter have met United’s asking price for Lukaku, but they have spread the payment out across a longer period of time than United expected,” the paper reported this morning.
“A two-year loan deal would mean United still have Lukaku’s amortisation fee on their books next season.”
Lukaku will begin preseason training as normal alongside his teammates but he does not want to fly out to Australia for United’s preseason tour.
The Premier League giants will play Perth on 13 July before meeting Championship side Leeds, but the Belgian wants his future to be sorted out before then.
The forward is motivated to make sure he is in shape for the new season but he wants to be playing it for Inter and not United.
